Senior Shanley Woods led the way with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Junior Asia Roby finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Junior Bella Abernathy and senior Kieran Johnson both finished with a double-double. Bella scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Kieran finished with 10 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.

The varsity looks to punch its ticket to Charleston on Tuesday when they host Morgantown.

The varsity girls capped off the regular season with a 60-25 win at Buckhannon-Upshur. The Patriots finished the season 18-3.

Junior Bella Abernathy led the way with 18 points. Senior Shanley Woods added 14, while junior Lindsey Garrison finished with 12. Senior Kieran Johnson grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds, 8 of them coming in the first quarter.

The varsity team will face the winner of the John Marshall vs. Brooke Sectional Semifinal on Friday, February 28.

JV RECAP

The JV team’s season ended on Friday with a 49-24 win at Buckhannon-Upshur. The team finished with a 17-2 record. read more

The varsity girls basketball team advanced to the OVAC 5A Championship game with a commanding 67-48 win over University. It was the third time the two teams had met this season with the Patriots winning all three.

Senior Shanley Woods led the Patriots with 26 points. Junior Asia Roby, who was instrumental in building the first-half lead, followed behind with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Woods and Roby combined for 8 of the team’s 11 3 pointers.

The girls varsity basketball team honored four seniors on Friday before securing a 57-44 win over Musselman.

Seniors Kieran Johnson, Daisy Reasbeck, Abby Snedeker, and Shanley Woods were honored with their parents before warm-ups. Woods was also recognized for scoring 1,000 points two days prior at Zanesville.

Junior Bella Abernathy provided a dominate double-double performance, scoring 21 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Woods and Johnson rounded out the double-digit scoring with 12 and 10 apiece. read more

Senior Shanley Woods eclipsed the 1000th point milestone at Zanesville on Wednesday night as the varsity dominated 71-32.

Woods led the way with 22 points. During the 3rd quarter, Woods nailed a triple to earn her 1000th point and become the 9th player in program history to reach the milestone.

Junior Lindsey Garrison had 14 points, while junior Asia Roby scored 8 points, pulled down 5 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists.

The varsity returns home on Friday, Jan. 31 for Senior Night against Musselman. read more
