Varsity Advances to OVAC 5A Championship Game

The varsity girls basketball team advanced to the OVAC 5A Championship game with a commanding 67-48 win over University. It was the third time the two teams had met this season with the Patriots winning all three.

Senior Shanley Woods led the Patriots with 26 points. Junior Asia Roby, who was instrumental in building the first-half lead, followed behind with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Woods and Roby combined for 8 of the team’s 11 3 pointers.

The varsity travels to Ohio University Eastern on Saturday, February 8 to take on Indian Creek at noon.


JV RECAP

The JV team capped off a dominating second-half performance with a 55-25 win over University. The JV held University to only 5 points in the second-half.

Sophomores Maya Taggart and Abby Barki led the way with 18 and 10 points apiece. The sophomore duo tallied a combined 13 of the team’s 24 steals in the game. Freshman Hannah Seivertson scored 8 points and bulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.

The JV concludes their season on Friday, February 14 at Buckhannon-Upshur.
